General Summary:
Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a talented individual to join our Systems Test Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and modifying general systems-level software and hardware, specialized utilities, and/or hardware. You will interpret wireless specifications, design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, and document systems-level defects. Additionally, you will identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and document problems with program function, output, or content, and develop testing programs to assess the effectiveness of new systems or modifications to existing systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collect basic information (e.g., logs, requirements) and identify common errors related to system testing.
• Conduct log analyses to identify where an issue has occurred.
• Discuss testing problems with the manager and peers regularly to maintain open communication.
• Communicate with tech leads on a project to verify accuracy and adequate running time.
• Detect bugs in the “system under test” and resolve issues using basic debugging approaches.
• Escalate technical issues to more senior colleagues.
• Collaborate with individuals inside their team to complete project work.
Level of Responsibility:
• Work under close supervision.
• Take responsibility for your work and make decisions with limited impact; errors made typically only impact the timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).
• Use verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.
• Complete most tasks with multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
• Exercise some creativity to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.
• Limited problem-solving is required, generally like troubleshooting simple processes or technology.
